Push The Awesome Button
Matthew Marinus and Ryno Zeelie are Sergeant Fu! |
Sergeant Fu burst onto the local music scene during the FIFA World Cup 2010 with their fun-filled track “Vuvuzela”. Immediately they captured local and international attention with their new “Feel-Good” genre of music, eclectic style, zany sense of humour and fun demeanor. This Johannesburg twosome have successfully followed all the hype up with their eagerly awaited debut album, “Push The Awesome Button” - at the launch which took place at Tanz Café in Fourways on Wednesday last week.
Sergeant Fu is headed up by Matthew Marinus and Ryno Zeelie who both have very strong roots in the SA Stage and Entertainment world. With their amazing musical talents they have created a completely NEW genre of music called “Feel-Good”.Their aim is to bring light and happiness to our everyday; routine-filled lives and takes no time at all in winning over the hearts of all who listen to it.
The individuality of the album shines through in Sergeant Fu’s ability to blend honest humour with that of sincere emotions. Through the intricate use of playful lyrical constructions, the songs grab you by surprise with their simplicity, relevance and “sing-along”-ability. RAVE'S favourites have to be Tinkies, baby, and Social Paraplegic. We have to say though it's a hard choice to make as the CD's been playing overtime in our cars.
