History can and does repeat itself.
“I wasn’t born on a stage, but that is where I live”
Kenny Wizz
June 25th, 2009. It was a day that nobody will ever forget. On that sad day the world lost its radiance; a man that will always be remembered as THE greatest entertainer and performer of our generation. Michael Jackson, the man was gone. But his music has lived on in the hearts of everyone from every corner of the globe. People have been clamoring to try and relive the magic, from buying up every CD to any DVD that’s ever been released. We’d like to share a secret with you. Rave Review knows someone that’s been out there for many years who continues to do the memory and life of Michael Jackson proud. His name? Kenny Wizz.
“Wizz” (as he likes to be called) grew up in California, USA. Performing as a street dancer in LA he was always likened to Michael Jackson. The hairstyle and the moves were uncanny and so he started doing appearances as a tribute performer including having a hit show on the Las Vegas strip for many years called ‘Splash’. The extraordinary opportunity of imitating Michael Jackson for some magical reason chose Wizz to carry its torch. Since then he has given it his absolute all by going out each night and thrilling audiences with his sensational and precise performances.

And now its time for South African audiences to be spellbound by this consummate artist. Showtime Australia, the guys who brought us “Beatlemania” and “It’s a Kind of Magic” are bringing you the ultimate Michael Jackson experience performed by Kenny Wizz with HIStory – This Is It.
With the biggest lighting rig to ever grace a theatre stage in South Africa, we can guarantee you will not be disappointed. A talented group of dancers (some local) and a band with members from all over the world will mesmerize you. Directed by theatre maestro Johnny Van Grinsven this showstopper is not to be missed. “Wizz” and the cast will take you on a ride that you just won’t want to get off. You’ll be treated to over 20 of Michael Jackson’s biggest hits including “Man In The Mirror”, “Heal The World”, “Bad”, and “Thriller”.
We can most certainly guarantee that you won’t stop singing and your feet will be going overtime from constantly tapping along to the music. “Wizz” is truly an incredible performer and we cannot sing his praises enough. His resemblance to the late King of Pop is eerie, and his moves are so precise that you’ll have to blink twice to make sure of what you’re seeing play out on stage.

This is definitely not a show – it’s an experience. It’s one that you should all see. Usher once said “Michael Jackson made you see the beat”. Well, Kenny Wizz, he makes you feel it! Rave Review got the chance to sit down with the man himself, and we must say we’re huge fans and consider him a friend. The passion for what he does shine through, and so does his humility and beautiful spirit. Kenny Wizz is an artist and most certainly brings the L.O.V.E back onto the stage and into every song he performs. This show really is a “Thriller” and given the chance, its one that this girl could relive over and over and over again.
